Individual Somatic Therapy

  • What it is

All therapy at Flow is essentially regular talk therapy. A licensed clinician who listens carefully, tracks you through time, and helps make connections.

The somatic piece is woven into how we work and can be dialed up or down. It’s a wider way of listening. Your therapist is attuned to your whole situation, not just your words.

There’s an invitation to connect more with your body.

  • Who it's for

You're managing. Maybe even managing well. But underneath the noise - the voices - the performance - the endless stimulation - something quieter is trying to get through.

You think there's something important there. You're right.

The way you feel now is only one option.

  • How it works

A person who listens carefully. Who tracks you over time, holds the whole picture, and notices connections you might not see from inside your own life. A person who can refresh your perspective.

And sometimes ... more quiet. More stillness. A different pace than the one life usually runs at. Space to slow down and listen.

EMDR Therapy

  • What it is

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Which is a mouthful. What it actually is, is a structured process that helps the brain do something it couldn't quite finish on its own - reprocess experiences that got stuck.

Most of us have things that got lodged. Not necessarily dramatic trauma, though sometimes that too. Often it's subtler. A cumulative drift of smaller moments, each one building on the last, shaping how we move through the world in ways we can't always name.

EMDR works directly with that. Not through analysis or conversation, but through bilateral stimulation, typically eye movements or gentle tapping, that helps the nervous system reprocess what it's been holding. You stay present and in control throughout. It's not hypnosis. It's more like finally giving the brain permission to finish what it started.

    Who it's for

EMDR is often used for specific experiences that got stuck, moments that keep reverberating, that show up in the body, in dreams, in reactions that feel outsized. Trauma, loss, moments that left a mark.

It also works for the subtler stuff. Patterns that started somewhere and shaped everything after, in ways you might not even be able to trace.

EMDR tends to work best for people who can follow their experience rather than analyze it, who can visualize, notice sensation, and let things move without immediately needing to understand them. Creative, open, willing to go somewhere a little less mapped.

  • How it works

Sessions are collaborative and carefully paced. EMDR isn't a quick fix or a one-session solution. It unfolds carefully. You might feel ready before you are. Part of what we do is figure that out together.

Your therapist will guide you through a structured protocol, using bilateral stimulation, typically eye movements or gentle tapping, while you hold a specific memory, image, or feeling in mind. The brain does the rest. What's remarkable is how much can shift without having to talk through every detail. The processing happens at a level below the narrative.

Couples Therapy

  • What it is

A dedicated space that belongs to both of you. Not one side or the other. Just the relationship, with someone in the room who can see what's hard to see from inside it.

The work goes beneath the surface arguments into what's actually driving the dynamic. The ways you each learned to love and be loved. What you needed and didn't get. What you're still, without realizing it, looking for from each other.

  • Who it's for

People come to couples therapy for all kinds of reasons. Drift. Distance. A rupture that changed things. Patterns that keep repeating. Or just wanting to start well before old habits take hold.

You used to feel like a team and somewhere along the way that got lost. One of you reaches, one withdraws. One shuts down. And you're not sure how to find your way back.

What everyone shares is a willingness to look at it honestly. And some openness to what they might find.

  • How it works

Couples therapy at Flow is a space to slow down and actually be with each other. With a neutral third party who can sometimes name what's hard to name from inside it.

Some of that work is about the relationship. Some of it is about each person finding more ground within themselves, because a stronger individual makes a stronger partnership.

The goal isn't to assign blame or declare a winner. It's to understand what's actually happening beneath the dynamic, and find a way through it together.

Our Values

  • Whole-Person Care

We look at the emotional, relational, physical, and developmental layers of your life - the full story - so your healing isn’t limited to managing symptoms, but rebuilding your foundation.

  • Brain Plasticity

The brain can change at any age. With new experiences and intentional practice, long-held patterns of feeling, thinking, and reacting can soften - creating more ease, choice, and connection in daily life.

  • Somatic Awareness

Developing awareness of sensation in our body allows us to tap into the body's power and recognize it as our greatest resource. No longer alienated from our body, we now feel deeply safe and connected within it. Difficult emotions, like fear and pain, can flow through us and strengthen us - rather than paralyze us.

  • Eastern Philosophy

We honor principles of presence, impermanence, and non-attachment. When we stop gripping outcome, we create space for clarity, calm, and transformation to unfold naturally.

  • Positive Psychology

Healing isn’t only about what’s wrong; it’s also about what’s possible. We help you reconnect to vitality - curiosity, meaning, and the parts of life that make you feel awakened and inspired.

  • Spirituality

Spirit directs our attention to the cosmos and the planet; to huge ideas and vast adventures; to prayer, meditation and other spiritual practices; to a worldview and philosophy of life. Spirit expands our heart and mind, gives us vision and courage, and offers us a strong sense of meaning and purpose.

If you have questions, we’re here to help.
