The Thoughts That Set Us Free
What’s one thought that helps you find your way back?
Here are a few that help me.
When I’m Anxious
For uncertainty, fear, catastrophizing.
I don't need to know the answers. I don’t know, and can't possibly know, what's going to happen in the future.
I'm okay.
This is the way it is. For right now. And it will change.
Thoughts are real, but they're not necessarily true.
When I’m Trying to Control Everything
For gripping, forcing, and resisting.
Ease is information.
I wonder what happens if I stop pushing so hard?
Sometimes life surprises me when I stop trying to control it.
If I’m creating some of this stress, I can create less of it.
When I’m Impatient
For Trusting the Unfolding.
Not everything needs to happen today.
Change is happening, even when I can’t see it.
I keep my eyes on the direction, and let the path unfold.
I stay open to possibilities I couldn’t have planned.
When I Need Perspective
For Remembering the Bigger Picture.
This is part of being human. I’m not alone, and this moment won't last forever.
I can use my breath and my body to help myself feel better, and I always have them with me.
I may not know how things will work out, but I trust myself to handle whatever comes my way.
Gratitude and appreciation help me notice how much is already here.
