The Practice of Being Seen
A few months ago Flow House was voted Most Loved Mental Health Practice in Santa Monica. I was so touched by the recognition, but reluctant to say anything about it.
I’ve never been particularly comfortable out front. I’m much more at ease behind the scenes - creating, experimenting, doing things in my own way.
There’s a freedom for me in not being too visible.
I’m never quite sure how much of that is genuinely not needing recognition, and how much is having a hard time receiving it when it comes.
Maybe receiving recognition is part of the practice, too. Letting something I’ve created be seen without needing to control what happens once it is.
So here I am, a few months late, sharing some good news.
I’m really proud of what we’ve built with Flow, and of all the people who have helped make it what it is. Eight years in, it still feels deeply mine and also so much bigger than me.
Thank you to everyone who’s been with us ... and whoever you sneaks are who nominated us. ❤️
