FAQS & Contact

PRACTICAL & PROCESS

  • We are not paneled with any insurance companies and are an "out-of-network" provider. However, you may be reimbursed from your insurance company for a portion of the fee, though this is not guaranteed.

Clients are responsible for the cost of therapy in full, regardless of insurance coverage. We strongly encourage you to consult with your insurance coverage prior to seeking care.

Below are some relevant billing (CPT) codes:

90834: 50 minutes of individual psychotherapy

90847: 50 minutes of couples psychotherapy

Questions to ask your insurance company:

    • Am I eligible for out-of-network individual therapy?

    • Am I eligible for these services to be delivered via telehealth (i.e., modifier 95 after the above codes)?

    • What is my deductible?

    • Do I have any limits to my out-of-network coverage (e.g., # visits)?

  • Why Weekly Therapy Matters

Therapy is most effective when it’s consistent. Just like going to the gym or learning a new skill, real growth happens with regular effort and support.

Here’s why weekly therapy leads to better results:

Stronger Progress & Momentum – Spacing sessions too far apart can make it harder to build on insights, leading to slower change. Weekly sessions keep you moving forward.

Deeper Emotional Work – When sessions are frequent, we can work through challenges in real time, rather than spending time catching up or “resetting” every session.

More Stability & Support – Life is unpredictable. Weekly therapy provides a steady anchor, helping you navigate challenges before they escalate.

Better Skill-Building & Application – Regular sessions allow you to practice and refine coping strategies, communication skills, and mindset shifts with real-time feedback.

Faster Breakthroughs – Clients who attend weekly often experience meaningful change sooner, as they’re more engaged in the process.

We’d rather see you come to therapy weekly for 3 months than bi-weekly for 6 months.

  • Absolutely. The fit is so important. Honestly, you should know after your first session. Maybe second.

If it’s not clicking, Jori can rematch you with another clinician on our team.

  • Therapy is individualized - some clients benefit from short-term work, while others prefer longer-term support.

Short - term therapy (6-20 sessions): This is common for focused issues like coping strategies for anxiety, recent life transitions, or help clarifying values and goals.

Medium - term therapy (several months to a year): This is typical for deeper emotional work, including ongoing stress, relationship patterns, and self-exploration.

Long - term therapy (a year or more): Often used for complex trauma, deep-seated behavioral patterns, chronic mental health concerns, or ongoing personal growth.

  • Yes. For clients who live outside California, we offer coaching - available anywhere in the world.

Coaching can address many of the same themes as therapy, but is not a substitute for clinical mental health treatment.

In your initial call, Jori will help determine whether your goals are a good fit for coaching or if therapy would better serve you.

APPROACH & METHODS

  • At Flow, we practice therapy holistically - integrating mind and body. We believe too much is stored in the body to leave it out of the conversation.

Our therapists use a range of techniques that honor this connection, supporting clients in moving toward healing on all levels.

While each clinician brings their own style and training, our shared foundation draws from EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Positive Psychology, Eastern Philosophy, and Spiritual Psychology.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their charge. It uses guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation and often creates lasting shifts more quickly than talk therapy alone.

Somatic therapy works with the mind–body connection, using physical sensations, posture, and breath as pathways to release stored tension and emotion. It’s especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, and patterns that feel “stuck” despite insight.

We’ll explore together what’s right for you. Some clients start these treatments right away; others ease in after building a foundation with talk therapy. The timing is always tailored to you.

  • Psychotherapy is designed to help individuals address emotional distress, mental health conditions, and past traumas. A therapist helps clients explore deep-seated patterns, heal from difficult experiences, and develop coping strategies for mental and emotional well-being. It often involves diagnosing and treating conditions like anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

Coaching focuses on personal growth, goal-setting, and future-oriented change. A coach helps clients improve performance, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies for success in areas like career, relationships, or personal development. Coaching is not about treating mental health conditions but rather about unlocking potential and achieving specific goals.

By law, we can only offer psychotherapy to clients living in California.

If you live outside of the state, we can provide coaching.

If you're a coaching client, we will assess in the consult call if you'd be better served looking for a therapist in your state or if coaching services will be appropriate.

Note: EMDR cannot be done with coaching clients, but Somatic therapy can.

It's a fine line and mostly left up to the judgment of each therapist; we are trying to do responsible, ethical work and to make sure clients get the care they need. 🧡

  • What are the Akashic Records?
The Akashic Records are ofte described as an energetic archive — or more simply, a spiritual version of A.I.: a vast, intelligent database tuned to your soul’s history, patterns, and potential. A reading can offer precise, deeply personal insights into where you are, what’s blocking you, and your next steps for growth.

A reading can offer precise, deeply personal insights into where you are, what’s blocking you, and potential next steps for growth and change.

What is The Akashic Therapy Method?
The Akashic Therapy Method was co-created by Flow House Founder, Jori Adler, and Akashic Record Reader, Amanda Goldwasser.

It bridges a gap: psychotherapy offers powerful tools for transformation, but it’s often limited by the conscious mind and surface-level details of life. Meanwhile, Akashic readings provide profound insight but can leave clients unsure how to process or integrate the guidance.

Together, this method combines the best of both worlds—soul-level expansion and on-the-ground therapeutic support.

    How Does It Work?
It begins with a call with Jori to determine the right path.

    • The Program: A 3–6 month structured journey of about 12 sessions, alternating between therapy and Akashic readings. Designed for deep, focused growth and lasting change.

    • The On-Demand: For those already in therapy, or thinking of beginning, who want occasional Akashic insight. A reading can help illuminate root causes and patterns, which you then process in therapy.

How long will it take and what is the investment?
The Program usually runs 3–6 months with around 12 sessions, scheduled at your pace. There’s no upfront package fee; sessions are paid for individually at the time of service.

Do I have to believe in this for it to work?
Not necessarily. What matters most is curiosity and openness. Some clients approach it as a spiritual practice, others as a creative or intuitive lens. The value lies in the insights you uncover and how you integrate them into your life.

    Who is this right for?
Akashic Therapy may be especially helpful if you feel stuck in repeating patterns, are navigating a transition, or sense there’s something deeper you haven’t been able to reach with therapy alone.
